Brad Miller of the Sacramento Kings was suspended for five games by the NBA on Thursday because the center violated the league’s drug program. [...]
Thanks to pesky privacy laws, we can’t be absolutely positive that Brad loves getting his off-season smoke on. But it certainly isn’t unlikely.
We know it was either weed or steroids; the NBA’s anti-drug policy hands out five-game suspensions for either. (We know he hasn’t been wrecked on acid or peyote, because that’d get him booted from the league).
Of course, Miller’s physique won’t send Dwight Howard into fits of jealousy, and his head yet hasn’t expanded to a Bonds-esque balloon imitation, but I guess performance enhancers can’t be totally ruled out. Not when Miller returned so quickly to form last season, playing six more minutes per game than ‘06-’07, adding three extra boards, four extra points, and nearly doubling his defensive output.
Miller, as expected, has issued an apology:
“I want to apologize to my family, teammates, fans and the entire Kings organization,” Miller said in a statement released by the Kings. “I made a mistake. It was an error in judgment, and I’m very sorry. I regret it deeply. It’s something I won’t and can’t take lightly.”
So, what was the mistake? Was Brad getting high, or jacked?
