Reports of Joe Dumars looking to pull the trigger on the deal is something else entirely — especially with Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups being the two pieces proposed in the package. Al Harrington would be the Warrior most likely to make up salary.

The idea of an elite player joining the ranks of an elite franchise is always tantalising. Pairing Davis with Hamilton, Prince and whoever the Pistons can attract from the bevy of big man free agents in the off-season would certainly shake things up in the East, and you’d have to think this rumour has some legs for both teams.
After the horrible playoffs you’d bet Chauncey is a chance to be on his way out of the Palace of Auburn Hills, but for such wholesale changes to take place, odds are that Joe Dumars has been playing a little bit too much 2K8 with the trade approvals switch turned off.
