The Return Of Shaq-Fu And The NBA’s Favourite Beef

June 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

James: As if sucking it up throughout the 07-08 season wasn’t enough of a gift to the NBA community, the world’s favourite actor-sheriff-rapper-centre (no, not Gheorghe Muresan) Shaquille O’Neal has outdone himself again; this time dropping an acid tongued freestyle dissing everyone from Kareem to Patrick Ewing, reserving his best rhymes for arch-nemesis, and fellow rap superstar, Kobe Bryant.

Alex: What do you do when you realise you’ve done something that could upset people? You go to the World’s Greatest Counsellor, Stephen A. Smith. The Big Aristotle had this to say on the matter:

“I was freestyling. That’s all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever. That is what MC’s do. They freestyle when called upon. I’m totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all. And by the way, don’t forget, six albums, two platinum, two gold. Anybody who knows me knows I’m a funny freestyler. Check the NBA DVD when I was rapping about Vlade Divac during my first championship run. Please tell everybody don’t make something out of nothing.”

The ‘funny’ parts Shaq refers to include him blaming Kobe for the break-up of his marriage, and asking last season’s MVP how his ass tastes.
